Motor coming along

September 7th, 2006

IMG_3071sm.jpgThis has been a long, slow project, but the results so far are more than satisfactory. I’m really taking my time to get it all done right, checking and re-checking all my measurements, torque specs and whatnot. Everything that is visible has been stripped down and refinished. The case is now high-heat flat black, the alternator and stand as well as my Kadron manifolds are a bronze metallic, other pieces are satin black. The cooling tin has all been powdercoated in silver vein.

1600cc
stock heads (for now) fresh valve job
Engle W100 cam
straight cut timing gears
Scat lifters
Autocraft 1.25:1 roller rockers
Chromoly pushrods
Oil pump with filter
009 with Comp-U-Fire (will eventually replace with SVDA)

We’ll see how she runs, this is my first motor build. I’m pretty excited to get it in the car and fired up, but that’ll have to wait until after she’s out of the paint booth.

Speaking of, it’s time to get her to the shop, anyone in the Southern Cal area have a flatbed trailer they’d let me borrow or rent?

How is the project coming along? How often do you work on your ride?
