My obsession with vw’s started when I was just 14 and a freshman in High School. My first vw was a 1971 vw fastback that I saved every penny I had to buy. It cost me 1200.00 and was a great driver. I drove her for about 2 years until I left on an LDS mission in Brazil for two years. During those two years my brothers finished the restoration I started on and before I returned My dad had sold the car. I have very few pics of that 1st vw.
The next vw I bought was a 1966 beetle I purchased some years later. After convincing my wife that it was the right thing to do I bought the beetle for 1800.00. I drove it around for about a year before I decided to look for an oval.
Without the consent of my wife (which I do not recomend doing) I bought the 1954 oval for 2000.00. Unfortunatly my wife forced me to sell the 66 in which I am still recovering from.
Although I have owned only three of these wonderful cars I have researched and read a lot about them. I have loved vw’s for most of my life and have enjoyed such a great hobby of buying, driving, and restoring vintage volkswagens!
