Installing Beetle Window Seals

June 10th, 2008

So, I’ve manged to install window seals on my Beetle

Rear Beetle Window with Seal and trim installed

This was the easy part. Reason being, the rear window is more or less symmetrical. Meaning it is not like the front in which it curves inward. They sell window seals with the rubber pre-formed, but since I already purchased the ones I have, i’m trying to make it work. Anyone has any tips, that would be apprciated.

Giving up on Headliner Install

December 2nd, 2007

Headline-less BugHELP! Is there anyone in the Greater New York City area that charges for a great job doing a headliner install. I’ve tried it too many times and now I give up. I’m too picky about being perfect to let my attempts ride. Let me know.

BedBug (vw)

September 27th, 2007

After having to deal with a bedbug problem in my home in New York City (big problem these days), this Beetle reminded me of my experience. I had to throw away my not so heavily used Sealy mattress, remove all the fabrics out of my house and have them cleaned multiple times and the building spray multiple times.

This car reminds me!

Original 1958 VW

April 26th, 2007

1956 VW BeetleThis is a picture of my car before I started the project. Some times I wish I left the car alone. In retrospect, the car looks pretty mean on the streets of Brooklyn. Nobody could easily guess it only had a 36hp engine in the rear. I expect to have this project completed by the mid-summer of 2007 complete with a 2000cc type 4 engine.
