Original 1958 VW

1956 VW BeetleThis is a picture of my car before I started the project. Some times I wish I left the car alone. In retrospect, the car looks pretty mean on the streets of Brooklyn. Nobody could easily guess it only had a 36hp engine in the rear. I expect to have this project completed by the mid-summer of 2007 complete with a 2000cc type 4 engine.

Broken Type 4 Cyclinder, Good or Not?

Monday, November 13th, 2006

My 96mm type 4 cyclinders were broken during shipping and Fedex crapped out on my insurance. Does anyone know if this is still good or not?

Selling Oval, Looking for fair price

Monday, November 13th, 2006

Oval Window Beetle 1Hello,

I am thinking about selling my oval on a classified site, but I am not sure what is a fair price to sell it at. I bought this car about 7 years ago, but I have not had time to spend on it. I am thinking about selling it rather than letting it sit in my sister’s garage.  Unfortunately/Fortunately, I live in NYC and my time in Atlanta is limited. I bought the car in Arizona and had it shipped to where it is now. What would be a fair price for this?

The seats are dry rotted. I remove the back. The floor has no holes, there is no major damage in the body beside the rear apron that would need some work. I need opinions on my asking price for this car.

Volkswagen Type 4 in 1 conversion Exhaust

Thursday, November 9th, 2006

Type 4 Conversion ExhaustI can’t figure out why there isn’t any suppliers of Volkswagen Type 4 conversion parts in the USA. This exaust system is designed by Remmel in Europe and widely used there. If you want to order one of these, you’ll have to pay a hefty price on the system and the cough up cash to pay for shipping which is not cheap. With Jake Raby on the East Coast, I thought he would have designed something by now or had some type of relationship with Remmel. Jake, if you can hear me, please help!  Oh well, if any one knows how I can get this, please comment. I want my Sleeper to have a stock looking exhaust system that fits through the standard exhaust cut outs.
